NARRAGANSETT, R.I. — September 23, 2026 — Rhode Island author, broadcaster, and media professional Tony Jones has announced the official release of his latest book, Making A Case For Holding Political Elections On The Blockchain, now available nationwide through Barnes & Noble.
The thought-provoking publication explores the rapidly evolving domain of blockchain technology and examines how a decentralization framework, primarily recognized for its role in cryptocurrency holds transformative potential far beyond financial systems. In this comprehensive study, Jones examines the practical concept of leveraging blockchain as a foundational tool for creating tamper-evident, transparent, and independently verifiable digital voting records. By evaluating these technological capabilities, the book offers a forward-looking perspective on what secure digital infrastructure could mean for the future of electoral integrity, democratic processes, and civic participation.
"I've always been interested in the intersection of technology, communication and the way people participate in society," said Jones. "This book gave me an opportunity to explore an emerging technology and ask some interesting questions about where it could take us in the future."
Rather than presenting blockchain as an immediate or absolute solution to current electoral challenges, Jones approaches the topic through a balanced, investigative lens. The book deliberately avoids oversimplified technical hype, opting instead to present a thoughtful examination of emerging possibilities alongside practical considerations. By breaking down intricate technical mechanics into clear, digestible concepts, the work aims to empower everyday readers, civic leaders, and tech enthusiasts to better understand digital trust frameworks and consider how new technologies could shape public institutions in the coming years.
"Technology can sometimes feel intimidating when we don't understand how it works," Jones explained. "I wanted to take a closer look at blockchain and explore the possibilities in a way that encourages people to think about technology differently."
The release represents a significant new addition to Jones' established career as an author, communicator, and media figure. Drawing on his extensive background across media relations, broadcasting, podcasting, writing, and psychology, Jones brings a unique multi-disciplinary lens to complex social and technological topics. His ability to bridge human behavior and emerging technology allows the book to serve as an accessible entry point for anyone interested in the future of public engagement and democratic technology.
For readers seeking to understand how cutting-edge digital tools could eventually impact community governance and national voting systems, Making A Case For Holding Political Elections On The Blockchain offers a timely and insightful exploration.
