Mindsec Adds DORA & GDPR Readiness to Its EU Compliance Suite

Expanded readiness support helps growing companies organize digital resilience, privacy, evidence and governance requirements for European customers and regulated buyers.

Mindsec, a Canadian security compliance company combining automation software with hands-on expert guidance, today announced the addition of Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) readiness support to its EU compliance suite. The expansion is designed to help startups, SaaS providers and larger organizations prepare for European security, privacy and operational-resilience expectations without relying on fragmented spreadsheets, manual evidence hunts and disconnected consulting engagements.

For technology companies selling into Europe, compliance is increasingly part of the commercial process rather than a task that begins after a deal is signed. Enterprise customers routinely ask vendors to demonstrate how they protect personal data, manage third parties, respond to incidents and maintain service continuity. Those questions become even more demanding when the buyer operates in a regulated sector.

DORA has applied since January 17, 2025 and establishes an EU-wide framework for digital operational resilience in the financial sector. Among other requirements, it addresses ICT risk management, incident management and reporting, resilience testing and ICT third-party risk. EU financial entities must also maintain information about contractual arrangements involving ICT third-party service providers. This means technology vendors serving banks, insurers, investment firms and other in-scope organizations can face detailed resilience and supplier-risk questions even when the vendor itself is based outside the European Union.

GDPR creates a separate but often overlapping set of obligations around personal data. Depending on an organization’s role and activities, readiness can involve documenting controller and processor responsibilities, maintaining appropriate processing terms, managing subprocessors, supporting data-subject rights, implementing appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, documenting relevant processing, preparing for breach response and addressing international data transfers.

Mindsec’s expanded EU compliance suite is intended to bring these workstreams into one practical environment. Companies can use the platform and Mindsec’s compliance guidance to structure readiness activities, assign responsibilities, organize evidence and policies, identify missing controls and maintain a clearer view of what still needs attention. The goal is to make European compliance easier to operate continuously instead of treating it as a last-minute scramble before a security review, procurement deadline or audit.

The addition also reflects a broader shift in B2B technology sales. Security and privacy reviews are no longer limited to large enterprise procurement teams. Mid-market customers, financial institutions and companies with European operations increasingly expect vendors to answer detailed questions about data handling, incident response, access control, business continuity, third-party risk and regulatory responsibilities. Vendors that cannot respond clearly may face additional diligence, contract redlines, delayed onboarding or lost momentum during the sales process.

Mindsec was founded in Quebec in 2023 with the goal of fixing what its team saw as a broken compliance system. The company was created after experiencing first-hand the operational burden of compliance programs built around spreadsheets, email threads, scattered evidence and high consulting costs. Mindsec developed an all-in-one compliance platform intended to reduce manual work, connect compliance activities to existing systems and combine automation with direct access to security and governance, risk and compliance expertise.

The company says its broader approach is built around making compliance a repeatable business process. Rather than requiring teams to create a separate operating model for every framework, Mindsec aims to help organizations reuse evidence, governance practices and security controls wherever requirements overlap. That is especially relevant for companies pursuing multiple goals at once, such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, Quebec Law 25, GDPR readiness and DORA-related customer requirements.

DORA and GDPR also illustrate why that cross-framework approach matters. Both can influence vendor questionnaires and contractual negotiations, but they focus on different regulatory objectives. DORA is centered on the digital operational resilience of the EU financial sector, including ICT risk and third-party dependencies. GDPR focuses on the lawful and accountable processing of personal data and the protection of individuals’ rights. Treating the two as interchangeable can leave important gaps. Mindsec’s EU suite is designed to help teams distinguish those obligations while identifying the operational controls and evidence that can support both.

For Canadian and other non-EU technology providers, the commercial impact can be significant. A vendor may not be directly regulated in the same way as its European customer, yet the customer may still require contractual commitments, security evidence, incident procedures and third-party transparency to satisfy its own obligations. By preparing these materials before procurement begins, vendors can enter customer reviews with clearer documentation and fewer unresolved compliance questions.

Mindsec’s team is multilingual and operates with an international outlook from its headquarters in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. The company works with organizations ranging from startups to enterprises and positions its software-plus-expertise model as an alternative to traditional compliance projects that can consume months of internal time.

With DORA and GDPR readiness now part of its EU compliance offering, Mindsec is extending that model to organizations that need to demonstrate they can meet the increasingly interconnected privacy, security and resilience expectations of European customers.
